Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is expected move out of Stamford Bridge on loan for the remainder of the season but the Blues are blocking the move until they sign another striker.

Batshuayi has struggled to get game time under Antonio Conte this season as the Italian has not trusted the striker to be an apt partner to Alvaro Morata. And with the World Cup coming up Batshuayi wants to play as much as possible so that he can be in contention for the squad that will be travelling to Russia this summer.

It was being reported that Sevilla have provisionally agreed to sign Batshuayi on loan for the remainder of the season.

But now it seems that the deal is on the verge of a collapse.

This is because Antonio Conte wants to sign a striker before he allows Batshuayi to move to the La Liga.

Chelsea have shown an interest in signing West Ham United striker Andy Carroll on loan but the Hammers want to offload the player on a permanent basis. This has caused a bit of a dilemma for the Blues and reports suggests that they are now deciding whether they should invest permanently on Carroll or not.

One thing is for sure though, if Chelsea fail to sign a new striker in January, Michy Batsuayi will not be leaving the club.
