Manchester United might have pulled a coup and signed Alexis Sanchez from right under City’s nose but now it seems that the Citizens are planning to take revenge.

Manchester City had been linked with Alexis Sanchez for the whole of the previous summer and at the start of January too, it was believed that the Chilean will be joining the Etihad. But the league leaders pulled out of the deal after Arsenal refused to lower their asking price – a fee that City thought was way too much.

Now with City’s local rivals Manchester United signing Sanchez, Guardiola seems to have shifted his focus to a long-term United target.

According to the Don Balon, Guardiola has informed the Manchester City hierarchy that he is interested in signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

The French International has been in fine form this season and was close to signing for United during the summer.

But the forward refused to move out of the La Liga outfit as Atletico were slapped with a transfer ban meaning that they were unable to sign any player.

But now that the transfer ban has been lifted, Griezmann has decided that he will move out of Madrid by the end of the summer.

Barcelona are said to be highly interested in signing the forward and are planning to launch a bid during the upcoming transfer window. And if Don Balon are to be believed then Manchester City too have entered the race to sign Griezmann.
