Manchester United will have to pay a transfer fee in the region of £50 million if they wish to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City. But the Red Devils are set to face some stiff competition from their ‘noisy neighbours‘.
Maguire joined the Foxes during the summer transfer window from Hull City and has heavily impressed both the Manchester sides. The Mirror claim that City and United are interested in signing up the defender and are planning to place bids during the summer transfer window.
Maguire has played only 26 games for Leicester but has already gathered some impressive statistics during his first season with the club. According to Whoscored.com, the 24-year-old has made 41 tackles and 127 clearances. He has also won 79 of the 127 of the aerial duels that he has been involved in.
As per the Mirror, Mourinho has been very impressed with his performances and wants to bring him on board for the next season. The Portuguese already has a string of defenders at his disposal but Harry Maguire will undoubtedly be a superb addition to the squad.
Guardiola, on the other hand, has publicly claimed that he wants to add a new defender to his roster especially with the ageing Vincent Kompany no longer being a regular in the playing XI.
Leicester City have valued the defender in the region of £50 million but with both United and City planning to sign him up, it will not be a surprise if the Foxes up the price tag by the end of the season.
