24-year-old attacking-midfielder Bauyrzhan Islamkhan who plays for FC Kairat in Kazakhstan Premier League was all set to join Celtic FC but the deal collapsed at the last moment.
According to the Islamkhan’s agent Daguev Timur, the midfielder was all set to sign the player for Celtic FC but at the very last moment, the deal got cancelled because Celtic officials doubted his ability to physically compete in the Scottish Premiership. And as per we know, how British Football is like and how physical it can be.
Daguev Timur said: “Celtic looked at Bauyrzhan very closely and liked him a lot,
“They liked the fact he is an intelligent player and thought he was up to the standard of their club.
“But you know what British football is like and how physical it can be.
“Celtic wasn’t completely convinced he would be able to handle the physical side of the game and pulled out.
“It’s a shame because, in terms of ability, he has everything and is certainly technically gifted.”
Kairat’s captain had a wonderful last season, where he scored 11 goals, while 14 assists for his side in just in 30 appearances across all competitions which helped his side to finish as runner-up on the league table.
Islamkhan’s playing style at Kairat has previously impressed everyone in Europa League. Kairat was the key team to eliminate Aberdeen FC from Europa League three years back and as Bauyrzhan Islamkhan is just 24, Celtic FC might have taken a chance on him.
