Chelsea transfer target Alessandro Florenzi looks all set to sign a new contract with his current club AS Roma – according to an exclusive report.

Florenzi was once considered to be a dream signing for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte but the midfielder/defender is now ready to commit his future to the Serie A outfit according to a report by Calciomercato.

Florenzi’s previous season was a rather disappointing one as the player was out for a long period of time due a cruciate ligament injury. But the 26-year-old has since then recovered from that nasty injury and is currently one of the top performing players for Roma.

Calciomercato has claimed that Florenzi has made up his mind to stay with AS Roma and will soon be putting pen on paper to a new deal with the club.

His current contract is set to expire in 2019 but Roma’s sporting director intends to tie him down until 2022 or 2023.

Florenzi is also expected to receive a pay rise under the terms of his new contract and will be getting €3 million per year instead of the €1.8 million per year which he makes currently.
