The Huddersfield vs Man Utd game had one major talking point – VAR.
Manchester United beat the Terries 2-0 – both goals being scored by Romelu Lukaku but the limelight of the match was taken away by that one Juan Mata disallowed goal thanks to the VAR. The decision looked to be dodgy from the very beginning and it was quite evident that the people behind the video monitoring screen had made a blunder. And now we know why exactly the error took place.
Andy Goldstein who works for TalkSport has claimed that that the people responsible for the VAR decision knew very well that they had made a mistake while judging Juan Mata’s goal offside during the Huddersfield vs Man Utd clash.
Goldstein tweeted: “….being told the VAR team are fully aware they got it wrong.”

After a while, Goldstein followed this up with a series of tweets where he explains what had exactly gone wrong.
As per Goldstein, the VAR team had chosen to disallow Mata’s goal due to a wrong choice of frame. The VAR lines were not calibrated properly when the decision was being made. And they only did the necessary corrections at half-time.
I’m being told that when they made the VAR decision on the Mata goal, they actually used the wrong frame to decide. The correct frame he’s on

They actually looked at the wrong freeze frame to make the decision.
Horrific
