It has been confirmed that attacker Mati Zata now officially belongs to Dundee United FC after he was realised by Rangers FC back in January.

On Monday Dundee United announced on their official Twitter account and official website that the 17-year-old ex-Rangers FC kid has signed a one-and-a-half year contract with the club.

A month after he left Ibrox, he started searching for new clubs as he announced on his personal Twitter account that he had left Rangers FC on transfer deadline day in January. Zata said, how it was an emotional decision to quit his boyhood club.

He mentioned his last day at the club as “very sad day”.

Zata said: “A very sad Day leaving the club that I’ve loved & supported all my life but nothing’s meant to last forever. Would like to thank all the players, coaches & parents that have helped me along the way and made it such a memorable experience, wishing all the boys the best of luck.”

But now he is quite happy engaging with Dundee FC as the club have a decent history of developing young players.

Zata has a great chance of developing with the club as The Tangerines are sitting in the fourth position of Scottish Championship.

The Zimbabwean attacking midfielder holds dual nationality as he was born in Alloa and has represented Scotland at Under-16 level.
