Manchester City and Liverpool are set to lock horns in the Champions League Quarterfinals and before the two-legged encounter, the City midfielders have showered praises on Mo Salah.

The Egyptian once again pulled out a top-drawer performance against Watford on Saturday – scoring four out of Liverpool’s five goals and he is undoubtedly one of the top candidates for the PFA Player of the Year award.

Manchester City midfielder IIkay Gundogan feels that Salah is the one one who can challenge Kevin De Bruyne for the player of the year award.

Speaking to Sport360, Gundogan said: “At the moment it feels like there are two players having an incredible season,

“One of them, fortunately, is in our team and that’s Kevin De Bruyne. The second one is Salah. Both of them are playing great. Obviously, because I play with Kevin, I wish Kevin the best.”

City’s summer signing, Bernardo Silva has gone one step further and claimed that the Liverpool forward is currently one of the best players in the world.

Silva said: “He’s been having an amazing season. He’s a great player, if not the best then one of the most important players for Liverpool,

“It’s great to have some of the best footballers in the world playing against us.

“Of course it’s not easy to play against him because he’s so good, but it’s good.”

After his double brace against Watford, Salah took his goals tally in all competition to 36 and now the Egyptian is being compared to Lionel Messi.
