Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has reportedly told his teammate Marco Asensio that he intends to join Arsenal at the end of the season.

The London outfit are planning to bring in a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window in order to replace their ageing No 1 Petr Cech and Don Balon are claiming that the Real Madrid ace could be their number one choice.

Real Madrid themselves are on the hunt for a new shot-stopper and are already readying bids for the likes of David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois which in turn means that Keylor Navas will not be the club’s first choice keeper come the next season.

In such a scenario, the Costa Rican has thought that it would be best to move out and preferably join the Gunners.

A couple of seasons ago, Navas was on the verge of joining Manchester United in a swap deal for David De Gea but the move collapsed during the final minutes of deadline day.

Since then the 31-year-old has reinstated his position in the first team but he desperately lacks the authority that Zinedine Zidane has been searching for.

Keylor Navas is currently valued at £16.2 million, according to Transfer Markt, but the Gunners management will surely look at other available options before making a move for the Costa Rican.

Arsenal have also been linked with the likes of Jan Oblak and it would be much more sensible for them to spend big money on him rather than Navas.
