The Football Association have decided to credit Harry Kane with the goal that Christian Eriksen scored against Stoke City meaning the English International is now just four goals behind Mo Salah in the race for the golden boot.

Christian Eriksen was originally credited for the goal against the Potters but Tottenham Hotspur decided to appeal against the decision.

This appeal itself made Lilywhites the but of a lot of jokes with some claiming that Spurs have made the golden boot their biggest priority of the season.

After the crediting of the goal, Harry Kane has now reached 25 goals for the current season while Liverpool’s Mo Salah is on 29 goals.

But after the decision was revealed a lot of Liverpool played showed their disbelief.

Liverpool have now entered the Champions League semi-finals after beating Manchester City in the two-legged quarter-finals. And this means that there is a huge possibility that Jurgen Klopp might look to rest the Egyptian for a couple of games in the Premier League.

Harry Kane being just four goals behind the Liverpool forward now has a realistic chance of reclaiming the Golden Boot for the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Even Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy raised eyebrows over the controversial decision that the FA have made.

Both Liverpool and Spurs are tied on 67 points in the Premier League table but Mauricio Pochettino’s men currently have one game in hand having played 32 games in comparison to Liverpool’s 33.
