Both Arsenal and Chelsea are planning to bring in new managers at the end of the current season and for both the London based clubs, former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is ranked as a very high priority.

But recently a report had emerged that Thomas Tuchel had agreed to join Ligue 1 side PSG during the summer and it was the club’s owner himself who had hand-picked the German manager to replace Unai Emery.

This news though came as a bit of a shock as a few tabloids in Germany had reported that Tuchel had seemingly rejected to take charge of Bayern Munich next season because he wanted to move to the Premier League.

Now Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi dismissed reports the club have already signed Thomas Tuchel as their next manager.

The PSG president told Canal+ after the Paris based outfit were crowned the champions: “If we had signed with someone, we would have announced it to you,

“Today we have a coach who was on the pitch. We are very honest; we have a coach today who works with us, with a contract until the end of the season.

“Let’s be positive tonight, we’ve done a lot of positive things. We’re champions, it’s a wonderful thing, I thank everyone.

“And the season is not over yet, there is the cup to win. The Champions League is our big goal, but it’s not easy. We work hard, but the other clubs do it too. We are very proud today.”

The Ligue 1 title will definitely not save Unai Emery’s job at the club especially after their embarrassing exit from the Champions League.

But the PSG president’s statement will surely be good news for Chelsea and Arsenal who have been after Thomas Tuchel for the longest time.
