Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi’s loan spell with Borussia Dortmund has been suspended with immediate effect and the Belgium International now has a tough couple of months ahead of him.

Batshuayi moved to BVB during the January transfer window in a loan deal until the end of the season but now the striker has returned back to London after suffering a knee ligament damage in Germany.

The 24-year-old took to the Bundesliga like a fish to water and scored nine goals in 14 games for Borussia Dortmund.

But after suffering the injury Batshuayi has returned back to Chelsea and will now complete his rehabilitation at Cobham.

This injury has done more than just ruin the final few weeks of the season.

Michy Batshuayi will not be in a race against time to make himself fit for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

Belgium kick off the tournament against Panama on the 18th of June and their first big match of the group stages will be against England on the 28th of June.

Borussia Dortmund hierarchy have been impressed with Michy Batshauyi and multiple reports have claimed that the Bundesliga outfit has marked out the Chelsea man as their long-term replacement to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

BVB are expected to make a move for Michy Batshuayi during the summer transfer window and given the fact that Chelsea signed Olivier Giroud at the start of the new year, there’s no big reason why the Blues should hang onto him.
