Fiorentina captain Davide Astori passed away on the 4th of March 2018.

After his death, Fiorentina released a statement which read: “Fiorentina are profoundly shaken and forced to announce that their captain Davide Astori has died.”

The Italian International died in his sleep whilst staying in a hotel in Udine prior to Fiorentina’s match against Udinese. The untimely death of the 31-year-old has sent the whole footballing world into shock and every known footballing face has shown their grief on the passing away of the centre-back.

But one player seems to be unfazed with Davide Astori’s death.

PSG star Dani Alves made an insensitive comment on Davide Astori’s tragic death.

Alves said: We have not been disturbed because we did not know him very much, I am grieving for his family, I think David did what he was supposed to do in this chaotic world and now he’s in a better world.

“In the world, however, thousands of children who do not receive much attention die of hunger every day and they are just as important.

“We all have to die sooner or later because we are passing through. Maybe we are sad, but certainly not like his family”

Dani Alves’ comment has certainly raised a lot of eyeballs across the footballing world and we are still waiting for reactions.

All Serie A and Serie B matches on 4 March were postponed due to the tragic death of Davide Astori.
