Manchester United signed Fred during the summer transfer window for a whopping £52 million but all the Brazilian has done is warm the benches.
And a number of fans are angry at Jose Mourinho for potentially ruining yet another talent.
Fred has seem very little game time at the club and most of his appearances have come as a substitute.
But the Man United fans lost their cool after Jose Mourinho opted to play Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic in midfield during the Arsenal game and still, there was no sign of Fred.
The manager was asked this exact same question by the reporters before Man United take on Fulham this weekend and in response, Mourinho explained perfectly why Fred was seeing so little game time.
“Step by step, you have also other players in other clubs that needed their time and you have some of them that played even less than what Fred is playing,” Mourinho told reporters.
“I think Fred, when the team is defensively stronger and doesn’t need in midfield, people that is more worried in giving balance to the team than being involved in creation and attacking dynamic, the day we are stronger defensively I think the horizons for Fred change completely.”
Jose Mourinho seemed to have found his centre-back partnership in Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling but the former injuries himself two weeks back and now faces a lengthy time on the sidelines.
On top of that, the likes of Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia are also out with injuries which clearly means, Fred will have to wait it out for his opportunity.
