The Belgian International’s current contract at the club is set to expire in the summer and Fellaini has decided against signing a new deal hoping to find a fresh challenge at a new club.
And by the looks of it, Liverpool are planning to offer him just that.
Liverpool are set to lose Emre Can at the end of the season who had refused to sign a new deal and multiple reports claim that the German International will be joining Juventus on a free transfer during the summer.
In such a scenario, Jurgen Klopp’s priority will be to bring in atleast one central midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
Jose Mourinho had recently revealed about Fellaini moving out of the club:
“Is he going to stay or leave? I don’t know,
“I want him to stay, the club want him to stay.
“The process – negotiations, numbers, distances between the offer and what he wants – I really don’t know.”
According to a report in the L’Equipe, Liverpool are planning to capitalise on the failures of Manchester United and bring Marouane Fellaini to Anfield.
The report claims that Liverpool are willing to offer Fellaini a three-year deal at the club.
But Liverpool are not the only club who are interested in signing the Belgian midfielder.
It has been long stated that Turkish side Besiktas was Fellaini and several reports had also suggested that the midfield would move to Turkey once his contract with United expires.
Fellaini has received mixed reactions from the Manchester United fans during his time at Old Trafford but we don’t know how the big Belgian would feel about joining Liverpool having already played for their arch-rivals Everton.
