England look a completely different side under Gareth Southgate, especially after the recent World Cup success.
The Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the tournament during the summer proving a number of people wrong and for the first time in decades, the players played as one whole unit rather than a bunch of individual superstars.
Both Southgate, as well as the Football Association, have been credited for bringing the players together but now it seems that the latter might have made a historic blunder.
Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu had a superb outing for Wales during the country’s 4-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland following which the Welsh manager Ryan Giggs said:
“Ethan is a talented player. Even more so than that, as a person, he’s so balanced and mature for such a young player. He’ll be a magnificent player.”
But what many people might not know it that Ampadu was born at Exeter in England and has represented the Three Lions up till the U16 level.
So why is this supremely talented youngster not playing for England?
Well according to Ethan Ampadu’s former manager at Exeter City, Paul Tisdale, England did have their eyes on the player but chose to reject him for a rather odd reason.

Talking to BBC, Tisdale said: “I phoned England, very relevant people, to say you have to get hold of this chap,
“I haven’t seen a 14-year-old as good as Ethan, but I was told he takes too few touches.
“They were looking for players who want to take more touches, but that is his strength, he does things in one touch or two touches and sees things early.
“I was told they had better, 12 players better, and they were aware of Ethan, but I told them he thinks correctly, acts correctly and makes good decisions.”
Well, England’s loss Wales’ gan.
