Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has finally agreed on terms of a new contract at Old Trafford – according to reports.

The Spaniard has made a wobbly start to his World Cup campaign against Portugal as a result of which he has come under fire from the media back home.

After the criticism was lashed out at the shot-stopper many feel that Real Madrid’s pursuit of David De Gea might hit a roadblock. And now Spanish outlet Marca(as reported by Metro) are claiming that Manchester United and David De Gea have come to agreements over a new contract.

As per the report, if De Gea signs the new deal he will officially become the highest paid goalkeeper in the world at £18.4 million a year.

Under the terms of the new deal, the United No 1 will receive £350,000-per-week in the form of wages which will see him surpass the earning of Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich.

The report also goes onto claim that while a deal has been agreed in principle but De Gea will only put pen on paper once Spain’s World Cup endeavours come to an end.

De Gea’s agreement to a new deal might just have set forward a chain of events that will eventually come to haunt Liverpool.

It is being claimed that Real Madrid will now shift their focus to AS Roma keeper Alisson Becker who is currently playing for Brazil in the World Cup.

Now Alisson has been a long-standing transfer target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but if Real Madrid come calling then it might be a bit hard for the Brazilian keeper to resist a move to the Bernabeu.
