Byram joined West Ham United in the January transfer window of 2016 from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee but since joined the London outfit, the full-back has not been able to recreate the magic he was known for at Leeds.
During his two and a half season stay at the London Stadium, Sam Byram has managed to make only 36 appearances out of which only 10 games in the 2017-18 season.
And now reports in Scotland are claiming that Brendan Rodgers is planning to make a move for the 24-year-old in the coming few weeks.
Sam Byram’s current contract with the Hammers ends in 2020 and the right-back is valued at £3.6 million according to Transfermarkt.
But given his lack of first-team action in the previous season, we feel that Celtic can purchase him at a much lower rate.
West Ham United have already signed Ryan Fredericks from Fulham at the start of this month meaning that Byram’s importance in the team has diminished even further.
In such a scenario, if Celtic come calling for Sam Byram, Manuel Pellegrini should not be hesitant in offloading him and bag a handsome fee for the out-of-favour defender.
