Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has shockingly retired from international football after he accused the DFB board and various other high profile Germans of making him a scapegoat for Germany’s poor run at the World Cup.

Ozil released a statement in which he claimed that he has been targetted because of his Turkish heritage and many have used the picture of his meeting with the Turkish president a couple of months ago to fire shots at him.

The 2014 World Cup winner has revealed that he no longer feels the pride to wear the national jersey and hence is retiring from international duty.

And ever since Mesut Ozil released this statement, it has become the centre of debate in the footballing world.

Most people have come out to support the footballer while a handful of people like Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has accused the playmaker of making excuses for his poor performances.

Whatever may be the stance of everyone but Mesut Ozil’s club Arsenal have decided to provide full support to their star player and in doing so they put out a tweet which has hit the nail right in the head.

Taking a dig at the DFB board, Arsenal tweeted:

“Our diversity is a big part of why we are such a special club.

“Together.

“#ArsenalForEveryone”

And it is not only Arsenal Football Club who have come out in support of the German but various other footballing greats – past and present have condemned the incident.
