Rangers FC have travelled to Croatia in order to take on NK Osijek in the second round of the qualifiers of the Europa League.

The Light Blues play the Eastern Croatian side on Thursday evening at the Stadion Gradski vrt and the fans are hoping that their team can come back home with a win that will ease the pressure in the second leg.

Rangers FC team news:

Gers manager Steven Gerrard is expected to make a number of changes in his first eleven but the fans can be rest assured that the boss will be eyeing a win on Thursday.

The backline will see a bit of a reshuffle from the 0-0 draw that the Gers played out against Shkupi in the first round with right-back James Tavernier coming into the team. Central defenders Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic are expected to keep their place in the line-up along with right-back John Flanagan.

The midfield will most probably see the addition of Lassana Coulibaly who was signed from Angers a couple of days ago. Yesterday it was revealed that the central midfielder has been registered in time and Steven Gerrard is expected to hand him a start on Thursday.

Ryan Jack will hopefully partner Lassana Coulibaly in the middle of the pitch while Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias will retain their place on either wing. But reports suggest that the Light Blues are going to include new signing Ryan Kent as a wildcard entry which means that there is a good chance that the winger might come on in the second half of the match.

Alfredo Morelos has been the first choice striker for Steven Gerrard up until now but he had failed to make the desired impact during the game which gives us a feeling that the manager might just start with Umar Sadiq up front.

Though the choice of the forward remains highly doubtful given the fact that Gerrard would have to make a decision as to whether he wants to risk playing Sadiq in an important away game.

Rangers’ predicted line-up vs Osijek:

Goalkeeper: McGregor.

Defence: Flanagan, Katic, Goldson, Tavernier.

Midfield: Murphy, Jack, McCrorie, Coulibaly, Candeias.

Attack: Sadiq/Morelos.
