4 teams that Usain Bolt could join as the sprinter signs his first professional football contract

Sprinting legend Usain Bolt has signed his first professional football contract and will reveal the name of the team on Tuesday morning.

Bolt recently made a curtain call to his sprinting career following the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London and his next aim was to play for a football team. Bolt has been a lifelong Manchester United fan and has expressed his desire to play for the Red Devils a couple of times in the past.

Bolt had revealed earlier that he was due to have a trail with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in March which was organised by his kit sponsor Puma and now it seems that Usain Bolt’s dream has finally come true.

But the former sprinter has kept his new team’s name under wraps making everyone guess where he will be playing.

We also decided to take a look at the 4 most likely teams that Usain Bolt might play for.

1. Manchester United:

The first one undoubtedly has to be Manchester United – the club that Usain Bolt has always supported. Bolt has been a very vocal supporter of the Red Devils and has asked former players to put in a good word for him. He even revealed that he had a chat with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson who had promised to put in a good word for him if he had a good trail.

We know United are a long shot but still.

2. Harbour View Football Club:

Harbour View FC are a Jamaican football club that currently pplaysin the Red Stripe Premier League. Usain Bolt had a couple of training sessions with the team before his big trail with Borussia Dortmund. It would not be a surprise of the Jamaican outfit decided to sign the sprinter as a secret weapon.

3. Mamelodi Sundowns F.C:

Mamelodi Sundowns are a South African football club based in Pretoria that plays in the Premier Soccer League. They are the only South African club who have played in the FIFA Club World Cup. Bolt had a couple of sessions with Sundowns too.

4. Futbol Miami:

Usain Bolt could also have joined David Beckham’s new MLS side which is scheduled to make its debut in America’s top league by the next season. Bolt had previously offered his services to Beckham for his newly founded team and given that both the athletes share a very good friendship it would not be a surprise to see Usain Bolt make his debut for David Beckham’s side.
