Alvaro Morata

Chelsea take on PAOK in the Europa League this Thursday and the Blues will be looking to get back on track after their defeat to Spurs last Saturday.

The Stamford Bridge outfit suffered their first defeat at the hands of the season last weekend and midfielder Jorginho has come out to blame the whole team for their failure to get a grip of the game.

But if one were to read in between the lines of Jorginho’s comments then they will notice that the summer signing has tried to lay the blame on the attacking third.

And the Chelsea fans too have seconded this opinion as they have been growing increasingly frustrated with Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea lost to Spurs 3-1 and the only goal for the Blues was scored by Olivier Giroud who came on as a substitute in the second half.

Sarri has tried to give Alvaro Morata numerous chances but the former Real Madrid man has failed to show any sort of consistency.

The fans have urged the club to offload Alvaro Morata by the end of the season and bring in a replacement.

But there is one man who still believes that Alvaro Morata has the goods and will eventually repay the faith.

That man is former Chelsea man, Scott Minto.

Minto has revealed during an interview that people rate Alvaro Morata very highly in Spain and the forward just needs more time at Stamford Bridge.

“I like Morata. We haven’t seen the best of him but I want to see more of him. I want to give him more time because I do think he’s a very good player,” he told Love Sport Radio.

“The people I’ve spoken to in Spain say he’s a very very good player but quite simply he’s got to do better than he’s doing at the moment.”

Alvaro Morata has so far played 12 games in the Premier League this season managing to score only five goals but most of those goals have come in small bursts.
