Rangers FC are planning to bring in Steven Davis from Southampton – according to reports.

Davis, 34, joined Southampton back in 2012 from Rangers and since then the midfielder has made over 200 appearances for the Saints.

But ever since Ralph Hasenhuttl has taken charge of the club earlier this season, Steven Davis has not started a single match.

And it looks like the 34-year-old is heading back to Ibrox.

Earlier this week, The Scottish Sun had reported that Steven Davis had agreed to join his former club after willing to take a massive pay cut.

The report suggested that the Gers were willing to offer an 18-month deal to the player and Steven Gerrard will be looking to wrap up the transfer before this weekend.

But now BBC Sport have come up with a totally different report.

BBC are also claiming that Steven Davis will be joining Rangers this month but the move will only be on a temporary basis.

Yes, are per the BBC, the central midfielder will only receive a loan deal until the end of the season.

Davis has played only six games this season out of which just three have come in the Premier League.

It is sure that Steven Davis will make the move to Rangers FC sometime this month – now we just have to wait and see whether it will be a loan move or a permanent one.
