Rangers FC are planning to bring in a couple of new players during the January transfer window.

One player who is more or less set to join the Gers is Southampton midfielder, Steven Davis.

And now according to a report, one of the Celtic players could also make a sensational transfer to Rangers this month.

As per the rumour, Celtic midfielder Scott Allan might make a move across Glasgow.

Scott Allan spent the second half of the previous season out on loan to Hibernian following which the 27-year-old returned back to Celtic Park.

And this season, Allan is yet to make a single appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Scott Allan so has played in some pre-season friendlies and reserve games but the central midfielder is way down the pecking order as far as the first team is concerned.

And now reports are suggesting that the player has spiked an interest in Steven Gerrard who could launch a bid for him this month.

Scott Allan is clearly surplus to the requirement at Celtic but the fact that he could move to one of their arch-rivals might not go down too well with the Hoops faithful.

But Celtic might not have too much of a choice given the midfielder is out of contract at the end of the current season and if Rodgers cannot sell him off this month then Scott Allan will leave the club as a free agent during the summer.

Scott Allan is valued at £540k as per TransferMarkt but given he has only six months left on his current deal, the Gers can get him for much cheaper.
