Rangers FC willl take on Hearts in the Premiership this Wednesday and Gerrard would be without a number of his key players.

Alfredo Morelos has picked up a four-game ban for his red card vs Celtic last weekend which means Jermain Defoe will start up front.

And in defence too, the Gers boss has a big headache.

Borna Barisic is currently out with an injury which forced him to miss the Old Firm Derby.

But unfortunately Barisic’s backup, Andy Halliday too will be absent for the Hearts clash.

Andy Halliday played at left-back on Sunday but he managed to pick up a red card after the final whistle after getting into an altercation with Celtic’s Scott Brown.

And now with both first-choice left-backs out of the picture, Jon Flanagan could make a comeback to the first XI on Wednesday.

Jon Flanagan joined Rangers from Liverpool on a free transfer last summer but the full-back has been a forgotten figure at Ibrox this campaign.

So far, the full-back has played in just nine Premiership matches this season but the 26-year-old could once again return back to the first XI this week.

Jon Flanagan primarily plays as a right-back but he is more than capable of playing as a left-back.

And with both Borna Barisic and Andy Halliday out of action, it looks like Jon Flanagan will get a rare opportunity to start vs Hearts.
