West Ham United’s last win was vs Arsenal and since then they have lost each and every match they have played.
And that run could easily stretch for one more game given the Hammers will take on Liverpool this week.
The Reds have a few injury concerns as far as their defensive lineup is concerned but the Hammers will be more worried about stopping Jurgen Klopp’s attacking department.
And without a doubt, Mo Salah will be the biggest cause of concern for Manuel Pellegrini and his defenders.
The Egyptian had started the season a bit slow but since then he has picked up the pace and is now the leading goalscorer for Liverpool.
Mo Salah has so far scored 16 goals in the Premier League despite playing in a couple of different roles up front.
But while talking about the threat possessed by Mo Salah, Hammers defender Diop said that he will have a very average approach towards stopping him.
Speaking to whufc.com, he said: “I don’t think they are unstoppable. I’ll just play the game like any other one.
“We know Salah is a big player but, for me, I will prepare the same and play the game the same way.”
“Before every game, I watch clips of all the strikers I am going to face so we know what they like and don’t like, but a big player like him can do anything, so he is difficult to stop, but it is not impossible!”
The Hammers need to win this game or else Manuel Pellegrini will come under enormous pressure.
West Ham currently sit 12th on the league table but if they wish to finish the season in the top half of the table then need to start performing.
But for Pellegrini’s defenders, the first job will be to stop the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane from scoring.
