Zinedine Zidane next Man United manager

Chelsea got back to winning ways this weekend when they beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

But this win has done very little to secure Maurizio Sarri’s job at the club.

Rumours are still ripe that the Italian is walking a tight rope and if the Blues fail to get back into the Champions League next season, Roman Abramovich will hand the manager his marching orders.

But if Sarri was to leave then who will come in the next manager? Now that the Blues have been slapped with a transfer ban.

Well, according to former Gunner, Robert Pires, it should be Zinedine Zidane who should take charge of the Blues once Sarri leaves.

Here’s why:

‘It’s a very strange situation with Chelsea and how they treat their managers,’ Pires told Bwin.

‘Sarri is a very good manager and he performed very well with Napoli, but it’s hard to see him at the club next season.

‘There appears to be a lot of player power at Chelsea that he is struggling to overcome like many have before him.

‘I think Zidane would be a very good appointment at Chelsea.

‘He would demand respect from the Chelsea players and control the dressing room as a result of everything he has achieved both on the pitch as a player and on the bench as a manager.

‘He’s a winner and a warrior. He’s had great success in the Champions League which is attractive to the Chelsea owner.

‘It would be very good news for the Premier League if Zidane moved to England.’

Zinedine Zidane has been linked with Chelsea for a couple of months now but the rumours died a painful death as soon as Chelsea’s transfer ban came into light.

Most pundits feel that Zinedine Zidane will not be interested in taking charge of a club where he cannot buy any new players.
