Granit Xhaka Arsenal news
Granit Xhaka Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka currently has four years left on his current deal but there are reports that the Swiss might be on his way out this summer.

Granit Xhaka signed a contract extension in June of 2018 which was indication enough that the midfielder has committed his long-term future with the Gunners.

But a could of months ago, the Swiss dropped a bombshell by claiming that he could move out of the Emirates.

Xhaka told Swiss outlet Tagblatt: “I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step.

“Arsenal does not have to be the last stop.”

This put serious doubts amongst the minds of the Gunners fans who are fearing that Granit Xhaka could very well be shown the door during the summer.

And keeping in line with this news, a number of reports are claiming that Inter Milan have shown interest in signing the midfielder.

While Unai Emery has shown no indication that he is planning to offload the midfielder this summer especially since he has already lost Aaron Ramsey to Juventus on a free transfer.

But given that the Spanish boss is planning a major overhaul, it should not come as a big surprise if he chooses to sell off Granit Xhaka in order to fund his new transfers.

Emery will likely be getting around 45 million pounds to spend during the summer which is clearly not enough to build a formidable squad.

So the rest of the money will have to come from player sales which is something that Inter Milan are heavily banking on.

Inter believe that a transfer price of around £45 million should be more than enough to bring Granit Xhaka to Italy and as per the reports, they are planning to launch a bid pretty soon.

Now Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has closely watched Granit Xhaka when he was managing Chelsea in the Premier League and it is being believed that the Swiss international ranks very high on Conte’s transfer wishlist for the summer.

Theoretically speaking, Arsenal shouldn’t be selling Xhaka after losing Aaron Ramsey but given the cash crunch Unai Emery is about to face, the right price might very well tempt the manager to part ways with the midfielder.
