Manchester United are expected to lose Ander Herrera at the end of the season as the Spanish midfielder looks all set to join PSG.
Ander Herrera is out of contract at Man United during the summer and it looks like the midfielder will not be signing a new contract.
Herrera has maintained that he wishes to stay at Old Trafford but reports in Spain are claiming that the 29-year-old will sign a four-year deal with Ligue 1 giants PSG.
And speaking about the possible transfer Gary Neville claimed that the exit of Ander Herrera has increased the work of Man United in the transfer market.
“United need to strengthen at the back with full-backs and centre-backs, they need another midfield player,” Neville told Sky Sports(via MEN).
“Reports this morning are that Herrera is going to PSG, so they’ll need to strengthen in midfield just to replace what’s there.
“I think it’s a loss Ander Herrera leaving. If you’re going to have five midfield players, which any modern-day squad would need, particularly if you’re going to play three in midfield, you can’t have everybody that’s going to be A1 perfect.
“They can’t all be Pogba sort of ability.
“You need people like Ander Herrera, who has done a brilliant job, he’s been a great pro, he’s been good to the club, he’s behaved well. Everything’s been right about him.
“He does a good job in certain games, he compliments what Pogba is and what Matic is. Matic is more of a static player whereas Herrera is more of a runner and gets about the pitch.”
Since Ander Herrera will be moving out on a free transfer, Man United will have to pay out of their own pockets to bring in a new replacement.
But some rumours have claimed that Solskjaer might just promote an academy graduate to fill up the void left by the Spaniard.
