Liverpool signed Andrew Robertson from Hull City for a transfer fee of around €9 million and initially the signing was met with a lot of criticism.
The need of the hour was to bring in big names and here Liverpool were spending money on a virtually unknown player.
But this past season, Andrew Robertson has gone on to become one of the best left-backs in Europe and he ended up making 13 assists for the Anfield outfit.
Recently he also scored a goal for Scotland in a Euro 2020 qualifier game vs Cyprus and now reports are claiming that Barcelona want to sign him.
Barcelona have earmarked Andrew Robertson as the long-term replacement for Jordi Alba and will make a move for him sometime this month.
The La Liga giants had a really disappointing last season and they will surely want to overhaul their current squad. And the addition of Andrew Robertson will be a fine move from the Catalans.
But speaking about the possible transfer, Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has predicted that the 25-year-old left-back will not be moving out of Anfield anytime soon.
“Andy Robertson must wake up every morning and think it’s Christmas Day,” Dalglish wrote in his column for The Sunday Post(as reported by talkSPORT).
“That’s why I don’t believe he’ll be considering leaving Liverpool for any other football club at home or abroad.
“I’m told he has been linked with a couple of big European clubs. But why would he want to leave Liverpool? Seriously, tell me why?
“Anyway, he is already playing abroad! Well, that was always the way I looked at it when I moved from Scotland to England to join Liverpool from Celtic.”
