While in normal circumstances, every Man United fan would have been furious about the fact that their noisy neighbours have managed to pick up yet another title but that though doesn’t seem to be the case.
Yes, they are heartbroken about the fact that Man City have won the Premier League but on the other hand, they are also a bit happy because Liverpool have failed to win the title despite being on the footsteps of Man City for most of the season.
And now former Man United defender Gary Neville has come out to claim that this Man City side managed by Pep Guardiola might very well be the best side in the Premier League era.
Neville told Sky Sports News(as reported): “I think so. There are people who’ll debate that, I would think, but what they have done in this last two years…
“Last year was a great achievement, but when you win back-to-back titles amassing the points that they have, withstanding that challenge that they’ve had from Liverpool, which was relentless right the way to the very end, it makes them a great side.
“Pep Guardiola has come to England and people will mention the Champions League, but I would dismiss that, really.
“To do what he’s done here now in this last two years is unprecedented, it’s incredible. The points tallies are just out of this world and the football he’s played as well, so I think you can say, yes, this is the greatest.
“I like our teams, I like the Chelsea team – there will be people who’ll say, ‘Who is the greatest?’, but what they have done in terms of points, you can’t deny.”
Man City nicked the title this season with just one point despite Liverpool losing just a single match this whole campaign.
But what really helped Pep Guardiola’s side is the fact that the Anfield outfit played out as many as seven draws.
