Alisson Becker was one of the heroes for Liverpool last season as the Reds picked up the UEFA Champions League and came agonisingly close to lifting the league title as well.
But the Brazilian did not have a particularly good start to the new campaign after he picked up a calf injury during the very first game against Norwich City.
And this sudden injury to one of Jurgen Klopp’s best players caused a fair bit of chaos especially since summer signing Adrian was abruptly thrown into the mix.
While Adrian has helped Liverpool keep their 100 per cent win record but every Liverpool fan has an eye on the progress of Alisson Becker.
And speaking about the player’s progress Reds goalkeeper coach John Achterberg has revealed that Alisson Becker is making good advancements after returning back to light training.
‘Ali has been working with Dave in the gym a lot to improve the strength and try to keep the fitness levels up,’ Achterberg told Liverpool’s official website.
‘In the last few days, he has been out on the pitch to do some catching and footwork, as well as small passing drills.
‘He has made steady progress, but it is difficult to say how long it will take or how it will progress.

‘It needs time and we cannot look too far ahead, so we take each day as it comes, see how he feels, and then make progress from that.’
Adrian has done more than a decent job in the absence of Alisson but the Brazilian will well and truly be missed when Liverpool start their Champions League campaign.
Liverpool have been pitted in a sort of tough group with the likes of Napoli and Red Bull Salzburg and they take on the Serie A outfit away from home next weekend.
While Alisson Becker is sure to miss the matches vs NUFC this weekend and the trip to Italy but some rumours claim the shot-stopper should be back to full training sometime towards the beginning of the next month.
