Man City have successfully defended their English Premier League trophy after beating Brighton away from home during the final matchweek.

City went behind in the first half but it was Sergio Aguero who brought things back on level terms very quickly.

And from then onwards it was all Man City as they took control of the match and thumped in three more goals before the final whistle.

After the match, football pundit Gary Neville even went on to claim that this City team managed by Pep Guardiola might very well be the best team in the Premier League era.

“I think so[Man City are the best of the EPL era],” Gary Neville said.

“There are people who’ll debate that, I would think, but what they have done in this last two years…

“Last year was a great achievement, but when you win back-to-back titles amassing the points that they have, withstanding that challenge that they’ve had from Liverpool, which was relentless right the way to the very end, it makes them a great side.

“Pep Guardiola has come to England and people will mention the Champions League, but I would dismiss that, really.”

Neville has backed Man City to win the Premier League all throughout the season – for obvious reasons but what the City fans did to him before the Brighton game is absolutely shameful.

The Man United legend was on commentatory duties at the Amex Stadium this past weekend where Man City were scheduled to take on Brighton.

And as Neville was entering the stadium, the Man City fans were filmed throwing beer at the pundit.

Here’s the footage:(And sorry for the caption)

This was truly a disgraceful moment from the travelling City fans given more so since Gary Neville has always praised the brand of football that Pep Guardiola has introduced to the Etihad.

There is obviously heated rivalry between the two Manchester clubs but as a pundit, the former Man United defender has always spoken unbiasedly – not only for Man City but for all the other clubs.
