Philippe Coutinho has been tipped to move out of Barcelona this summer transfer window now that Antoine Griezmann has arrived at the club.
The Brazilian has found it really hard to live up to the expectations ever since his high-profile move to Spain from Liverpool in January. And now reports are suggesting that Barca are looking to offload him this summer.
Philippe Coutinho managed to score just 5 goals and provide 2 assists in 34 La Liga games last campaign and despite his agent’s claim, Barcelona are more than willing to cash in on the winger.
Both Man United and Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho but recent rumours had suggested that PSG had made contact with the player’s representatives and are eager to bring him onboard.
But now the Brazilian’s agent has made it clear that the Parisians had made no contact in regards to the transfer of Philippe Coutinho.
His agent Kia Joorabchian told Sky Sports(as reported by talkSPORT): “Paris Saint-Germain are a great club, but we have had no contact about Philippe with them whatsoever.
“We’ve never had a conversation with them about Philippe and we know them very well. It’s never been in consideration.
“It’s something that if it comes to the point that Barcelona would like Philippe to leave then we would do what is best for him.”
His manager also added that despite interest from the likes of Manchester United, it is highly unlikely that Philippe Coutinho will join another Premier League club due to his love for Liverpool.
“Coutinho has never spoken about leaving. At the moment we are extremely calm and haven’t gone out to get an offer because we’ve been told categorically that he is not for sale,” his agent added.
“But Liverpool lies very deeply in his heart, he has a strong affinity with the club so it would be difficult for him to go to one of their direct rivals.”
