Spurs have been going through a torrid time during the past couple of months having dropped points in three out of their last five matches and next up they travel to Anfield in order to take on Liverpool.

Last time these two sides met in the Premier League, the Reds were able to pick up all three points courtesy of a late own-goal from Toby Alderweireld and then just a few weeks later, Spurs once again suffered defeat at the hands of Liverpool – this time in the Champions League final.

While this match should be a thrilling encounter but given the poor form that Spurs have shown over the past couple of weeks, we expect Liverpool to have a slight over their opponents this weekend.

Also, Pochettino has been reluctant to use the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen regularly which in turn has seriously hampered their capacity going forward.

Spurs team news vs Liverpool:

Hugo Lloris still remains out with an injury meaning Gazzaniga will play in front of goal on Sunday at Anfield.

Sanchez and Vertonghen featured in central defence in midweek for Spurs’ Champions League clash but the former should make way for Toby Alderweireld on Sunday when the Lilywhites visit Liverpool.

Danny Rose did not feature in the matchday squad in midweek but the left-back should reprise his place in the first XI for the Liverpool vs Spurs clash.

Liverpool usually play with a 4-3-3 formation at home and Poch might use the same tactic to counter out the home side in which case Harry Winks will play in central midfield along with two wide midfielders.

Ndombele and Sissoko bot get to keep their place in the first XI from midweek but the introduction of Winks means Dele Alli will drop back to the bench.

Christian Eriksen has been a bench warmer for most of the season and for the Liverpool vs Spurs clash we believe nothing much is going to change.

Erik Lamela has been preferred down the right flank while Son plays down the left and on Sunday at Anfield this will remain.

Harry Kane is the obvious choice upfront but against Liverpool apart from goalscoring duties, the England captain will also have to help out in defensive duties since they will be playing at Anfield.

The manager has a very small injury list with only Ryan Sessegnon the only other player apart from Hugo Lloris who is out with a thigh injury.

The summer signing taking a rather long time in recovering from a hamstring injury and will most certainly play no part on Sunday.
