Manchester United have been keen on bringing in Chrisitan Erkisen in case Paul Pogba leaves the club during the summer transfer window.

And if recent reports are to be believed then the Frenchman could be on his way out of Old Trafford pretty soon.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane desperately wants to sign the midfielder but it seems like Paul Pogba is not interested in joining the La Liga side.

Instead, he wants to head back to Juventus – the same club he left back in 2016 in order to join Manchester United.

And if this happens then Zidane will shift his focus to Tottenham Hotspur man Christian Eriksen who is rumoured to be the second choice for the Madrid boss in case he cannot sign Pogba.

Christian Eriksen has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side during the past couple of season but the Danish international is keen to win silverware and Spurs’ failure to win the Champions League final might just have forced him to look for a new challenge.

While Pochettino will not be too keen to let the player leave but Daniel Levy knows for a fact that he can bag in a fair amount of money from the sale of Christian Eriksen.

And he is not willing to miss out on such an opportunity.

Having said that though, if Real Madrid do make a move for Eriksen then it could be a real setback for Manchester United given that just like Madrid, they too want to the Spurs man as a replacement for Pogba.

If Pogba moves to Juventus then the Red Devils will receive a big transfer fee and Solskjaer was planning to use this money to bring in Christian Eriksen.

But if Real Madrid do make it a point to go after him then Man United will surely fall down the pecking order – especially since they will not be playing in the Champions League next season. And to convince Christian Eriksen to take a step down at this stage of his career will surely be a tough job for the Old Trafford outfit.
