Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win vs MK Dons in the League Cup this midweek and next up they take on Sheffield United in the Premier League.

The Sheffield United vs Liverpool clash shouldn’t be a big cause of concern for the Liverpool manager since the Reds are yet to lose a game in the Premier League this season and have already beaten the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp chose to rest a number of his first-team players in midweek but most of them are expected to return for the clash at Bramall Lane.

The manager is not expected to make any major changes to his regular first-team lineup especially with a Champions League clash coming up next week vs Salzburg.

Liverpool news vs Sheffield United:

The biggest Liverpool news is the return of Naby Keita from injury. The midfielder started the MK Dons game alongside Lallana and Chamberlain in midfield but we don’t think the former Bundesliga star will keep his place in the starting line-up this weekend.

Fabinho is set to return back in his usual role in defensive midfield alongside Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson who will play a bit further upfront.

Van Dijk and Joel Matip were both rested during midweek but the pair will replace Lovren and Joe Gomez in central defence during the Sheffield United vs Liverpool clash on Saturday.

James Milner started at left-back in the league cup win but the senior pro will drop back to the bench as Andy Robertson comes back into the side.

Alisson Becker has returned back to light training but he is still some weeks away from making a comeback which means summer signing Adrian will start in goal.

The Liverpool front three were all given a much-deserved rest in midweek but they will most certainly take up their place in attack when Liverpool play at Bramall Lane.

Divock Origi picked up an ankle injury during Liverpool’s win vs Newcastle United last weekend and as per the latest updates, the forward will not be fit in time for the Sheffield United vs Liverpool game.

Sheffield United are currently 10th on the league table picking up points from four out of their first six matches which is a pretty impressive start for the Blades.

But we don’t see them causing any major troubles to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this weekend.
