Ander Herrera has played in almost every game under Solskjaer since December but the midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season.
And right now there are no signs that the Spaniard is going to sign a new deal.
Ander Herrera himself has claimed that he is not worried about a new contract which has prompted many to believe that the two parties might already have agreed on the terms.
But until the new deal is confirmed there will surely be rumours and right now, Arsenal look to be in pole position to sign the Spaniard.
Initially, it was thought the Gunners will not be making a move for Ander Herrera this summer since they already have a number of midfielders who play the same role as the Man United man.
But now it looks like Granit Xhaka has messed up the whole scenario.
The Swiss international had recently claimed that there is every possibility that he might not end his career with Arsenal and since then there have been rumours that the midfielder might just walk away at the end of the summer.
If that does happen then Arsenal will have no other option but to make a bid for Ander Herrera.
Much like Unai Emery, Solskjaer too has a number of midfielders at his disposal but the duo of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera have always been the first choice.
This certainly means, the Man United boss views Ander Herrera in his long term plans and a new deal is well and truly on its way.
But then there are some other theorists who claim that Man United might take advantage of the situation and choose to sell Ander Herrera to Arsenal at an inflated price in case Granit Xhaka plans to move out of London.
