Mesut Ozil has been on the verge of moving out of Arsenal during the past two transfer window and there have been heavy rumours that the German will be on his way out at the end of the season.
The playmaker was about to head out during the January transfer window but then Unai Emery was sacked and Mikel Arteta chose to hold onto him claiming that he could still provide help out the first XI in a lot of ways.
And true to his words, Arteta did give Mesut Ozil significant amount of game time during the past couple of months – so much so that many pundits have hinted that the German will be given a new contract at the club.
Now though, fresh reports are suggesting that the Gunners have no intention of providing the player with a new deal during the summer and are willing to let him leave as a free agent next year.
Ozil is out of contract in the summer of 2021 but right now Arsenal want to focus on handing new deals to players like Aubameyang and Lacazette.
Yes, Mesut Ozil currently draws £350,000 a week in wages meaning if the Gunners keep him for one more year it will make a significant impact on their budget but right now Arteta and his team are willing to take this risk instead of starting fresh negotiations with him.

While Arsenal will be more than happy to offload the playmaker at the end of the season but right now there are no major takers especially since he has such a high wage demand.
So as per the report, Arsenal are not looking to further aggravate the situation meaning Mesut Ozil should remain at the Emirates for one more season.
But there is also a possibility that the player might want to head out before the start of the next season instead of playing second fiddle all year round. But in order to do that he will have to take a massive pay cut.
And if Mesut Ozil is willing to do this then there’s a massive chance that he could be heading out of Arsenal pretty soon.
