After losing 3-0 to Watford in the Premier League everyone expected Liverpool to bounce back with full force vs Chelsea.
But in the end, it was another embarrassing loss for the Anfield outfit as they were knocked out of the FA Cup, courtesy of goals from Willian and Ross Barkley.
Liverpool also are 1-0 down against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League meaning if the player’s do not get their act straight then very soon they only be running in the Premier League title race.
So after the loss to Chelsea, Andy Robertson was quick to point out that Liverpool still need four wins in order to wrap up the Premier League title which is why this isn’t the right time to let their guard down just yet.
‘We’ve not been good enough, for one,’ Robertson told Sky Sports as quoted by Metro.
‘The games have been different. Against Watford, we weren’t at the races. Today in spells we were and the last half an hour we weren’t.
‘Against Atletico I thought we played well, to be honest, but they defended excellently.
‘These are things, different games have come with different things, but at the end of the day we’ve been beat three of the last four and that needs to change.
‘People keep on saying we’re going to be Premier League champions, but we’re not, we’re not champions just now and we believe that we’re still a wee bit off it.
‘We need four wins and that’s not guaranteed. ‘We need to get back on it, we need to get back to winning ways, we need to get back to performing well, first and foremost, and hopefully, that starts on Saturday.’
During the remainder of the Premier League, Liverpool will face the likes of Aston Villa, Brighton and Burnley meaning if things do not fall apart completely then Klopp’s men should be able to wrap up the title with considerable ease.
