Man United played a relatively young side vs Wolves on Saturday but the teamsheet did not have the name of Angel Gomes on it.
The youngster has come up through the ranks at Manchester United and has been tipped to have a great career at Old Trafford.
The player also featured quite heavily in pre-season and with the likes of Pogba and McTominay out for lengthy periods, everyone was sure that Angel Gomes would surely get some game time.
But he was nowhere to be seen against Wolves – a match where Man United used the likes of Greenwood and Tahith Chong and everyone has been bashing the team selection of Solskjaer since.
While the youngster would have certainly made a difference in the first XI if he was used in place of say a Nemanja Matic but it looks like the manager might have a good enough reason not to use the 19-year-old.
Angel Gomes is out of contract at Man United at the end of the current season and there are fears that the player will not be signing a new deal.
While Man United would want to keep Gomes at the club and are ready to offer him a new deal but the player is not happy with the limited chances he has gotten till now and wants to head out to greener pastures.
And many believe this is the main reason why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not been wanting to use him despite the absence of Pogba and McTominay.
Angel Gomes has played in 3 Europa League games this season and is yet to feature in the Premier League for the first-team and if the management cannot sort out his contract situation, the attacking midfielder might not get to play any more games this season.
