Premier League club Chelsea have been recently shown interest in signing Lucas Vazquez from Real Madrid but it looks like the Blues are set to miss out – as per a report.

The London outfit are set to lose Willian in the summer while Pedro could also be on his way out meaning Frank Lampard might be going into the 2020-21 season a bit thing on the right-wing.

And in such a scenario, the Real Madrid misfit would have been the perfect replacement to the likes of Willian and Pedro.

Lucas Vazquez has featured in only 14 La Liga matches so far this season and out of these only six have been starts. So clearly, Zinedine Zidane does not rate the winger too highly at this moment.

Chelsea’s hopes were further lifted when Vazquez had recently hinted that he could end up playing for a Premier League club in the near future.

“The dream is to retire at Madrid but in football, you don’t know,” Vazquez told The Guardian.

“When I was little, I always watched the Premier League with my brother. It was, it is, very attractive: a nice football to play, one that could fit my characteristics and personality well.”

Will Chelsea miss out on Lucas Vazquez?

Well, all these hopes might have evaporated into thin air since Sports Mole are reporting that the 28-year-old is not too keen to move out of Madrid in the summer.

Yes, Vazquez has a number of offers at his disposal but the winger wants to stay put at the Bernabeu and wants to prove his worth to the manager.

Another possible reason for the player to remain at the club is that Zizou is still a big admirer of his style and the Real Madrid manager is not too keen to part ways with him right now.

This bit of news is certainly a big blow for Chelsea and their hopes but some experts believe the Blues still have a chance to sign the Spain international since the player has just over a year left on his current deal and as things stand, Florentino Perez has not yet offered him a new contract at Real Madrid.
