Man City have joined the race to sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic during the summer transfer window – as per reports.
The midfielder has been with the Turin based outfit since 2016 after having joined the club from AS Roma in 2016 but there a massive chance that the player could be on his way out in the summer.
This is not the first time that Man City have been linked with Miralem Pjanic but this time they have a real chance of signing the 29-year-old since David Silva is about to leave the club at the end of the season.
While Man City are expected to launch a bid for the player in the upcoming transfer window but signing him will not be easy for two major reasons.
First, Miralem Pjanic is under contract at Juventus till 2023 meaning the Serie A outfit are under no circumstances going to let him leave for a meagre transfer fee this summer.
And secondly, City aren’t the only club who are trying to go after the Bosnian midfielder since Chelsea reportedly also hold a substantial interest in the player.
Will Miralem Pjanic choose Man City over Chelsea?
While playing under Pep Guardiola might be a really big opportunity to let go for Miralem Pjanic but there’s very little chance that the Spanish boss will remain at the Etihad for more than one season – more so now that Man City have been caught in this FFP mess.
Most completed passes in the @ChampionsLeague this season:

2. İlkay Gündoğan (Man City) – 476 (90%)
3. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – 466 (92%)
4. Benjamin Pavard (Bayern) – 441 (91%)

Also, as things stand, City will not be playing in the Champions League next season while Chelsea still have a chance of holding onto their UCL status.
And given the fact that Miralem Pjanic is about to enter the final phase of his footballing career, the 29-year-old will surely want to keep playing in Europe’s top-tier if he really wants to join a new club in during the summer transfer window.
And to top all of it, Maurizio Sarri is desperate to reunite with Jorginho for the upcoming season and rumours have it that Chelsea could use their playmaker as a counter-weight in the transfer of Pjanic.
