Premier League side Manchester United are desperate to sign winger Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but getting their hands on the 20-year-old will be no easy task.
The Bundesliga side reportedly want around £125 million to sell their star player this summer which is a massive price tag, especially after such a prolonged lockdown.
While Sancho is obviously on Solskjaer’s priority list and will remain so till the end of the transfer window but as per reports, the Old Trafford outfit are looking at two players who could turn out to be alternative, in case they fail to land the England international.
Cengiz Under – AS Roma:
Manchester United are eyeing a move for this 22-year-old who is valued at around £27 million as per The Daily Mail.
During the 2019-20 season, the right-sided winger has played in 15 league matches for Roma, scoring three goals.
The Serie A side are willing to let him leave this summer but the major problem is that North London side Arsenal are also keeping tabs on him. The Gunners have shown a keen interest in signing Cengiz Under but we do not think Arteta will make this move his topmost priority for the summer since he already has Nicolas Pepe amongst his ranks.
The winger still has three years left on his current deal with Roma so the Italians will clearly not be interested in dropping their demands.
Federico Chiesa – Fiorentina:
Chiesa is another player who has been tipped as an alternative to Jadon Sancho and as per reports, Man United have already made an initial offer of €50 million for the 22-year-old.
The winger has six goals and five assists in 23 Serie A games this season and as per the report, Fiorentina should agree to part ways with him if Man United can spend around €60 million.
It’s still unclear if Man United are willing to go that high but if the move for Jadon Sancho fails then Federico Chiesa remains a favourite to move into Old Trafford during the summer.
