Up until last week, the Blues were trying to bring in Alex Telles from Porto but now as per reports, the player will be heading to PSG in the summer as the two clubs have already struck a deal.
A report in GFNF states: “Le Parisien report that 27-year-old Brazilian left-back Alex Telles is of interest to PSG ahead of a possible summer transfer window move.
“The outlet claims that Brazilian reports from GauchaZH over the weekend that a deal is close between Les Parisiens and FC Porto worth between €20m and €25m are currently wide of the mark.”
This is undoubtedly a huge setback for Frank Lampard who is now expected to shift his focus to Ben Chilwell in the coming few days.
Telles was said to be available for around £22 million which was great bargain deal for the Blues but Leicester City will surely not take anything less than £50 million in exchange of Ben Chilwell which could be a real cause of concern for Chelsea.
The London outfit are expected to lose Emerson as well as Marcos Alonso this summer which is why their manager is so keen to land a new left-back before these players move out.
But now with the Porto star heading to Paris, Chelsea will have to enter the long negotiations for Ben Chilwell meaning this transfer drama could roll on for the next couple of months.
Ben Chilwell still has four years left on his current deal with the Foxes meaning Leicester City are in no hurry to sell him off this summer. And this could be the real undoing for Chelsea.
