Bruno Fernandes was without a doubt the star of the show as Manchester United breezed past Watford at home on Sunday.

The Red Devils were under pressure in the first 45 minutes but after the break, Man United were without a doubt the better side and new boy Bruno Fernandes was pulling most of the strings.

Just before half-time, the midfielder won a penalty and then converted from a spot in a rather unusual fashion.

The player took a short run-up and then hopped and jumped to take the shot – something that we see Chelsea midfielder Jorginho see doing a lot.

And speaking after the match, Bruno Fernandes hinted that we could see a lot more of that in the future.

“It’s the way I shoot a penalty, it’s where I feel confident,” he told BBC Sport via MEN.

“I do not shoot just that way but it felt the best way today.”

“This is the day every player wants to have. I feel lucky to score, I feel lucky to win the game. We all gave our best, and we all deserved the win.

“I just need to help the team, it’s what I want to do, it’s what I need to do. I hope Martial scores more goals too like he did tonight.

“This is what I want to do and what I need to do.

“Everyone knows we want to get into the Champions League places. I am here to help the team conquer this place and keep winning games.”

Bruno Fernandes also provided an assist for the third goal scored by Mason Greenwood and if the likes of Harry Maguire had been a little more clinical then surely the Portuguese could have racked up a few more in the assists column.

All in all, the new signing surely has added a new dimension in Man United’s play and suddenly, Solskjaer is not feeling the absence of Paul Pogba too much.

Obviously, when Pogba returns he will go straight back into the side and many pundits feel that the Frenchman could form a formidable and deadly partnership with Bruno Fernandes.
