Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign winger Ivan Perisic by Inter Milan on a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez, according to talkSPORT.
Inter Milan want to hold onto Alexis Sanchez on a permanent basis after he has made a pretty decent impact at the club this season. But it looks like his massive wage structure is turning out to be a big issue for the Serie A outfit.
The report claims: “Inter Milan could offer Ivan Perisic to Man United are part of their move to sign Alexis Sanchez on a permanent basis.
“United are keen to offload Sanchez this summer and get his whopping £500,000-a-week wages off their expenses.
“But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant he’ll only let the flop leave permanently and Inter are stumbling over the cost of the deal. Football Italia claim they are set to offer Perisic to help free up wages and lower Sanchez’s asking price.”
Do Man United need Ivan Perisic?
A couple of years ago, Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Ivan Perisic but ultimately nothing materialised.
Since then his importance at Inter has dipped as well and this season he has been out on loan to Bayern Munich who do have the option to buy him on a permanent basis but they are not going to exercise it.
So clearly Ivan Perisic will have no place in either Bayern or Inter next season which is why Antonio Conte is willing to send him to Manchester United.
A couple of years ago, the Croatian would have been a fine signing but we doubt if Solskjaer will be too eager to bring him on board given that he already has the likes of Marcus Rashford and Daniel James at his disposal.
Perisic has played in 31 games for Bayern during the ongoing season scoring just six goals and providing 10 assists.
