Arsenal manager Unai Emery looks all set to make his first signing in the form of Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner – according to reports.
Lichtsteiner joined Juventus back in 2011 from Lazio and since then the versatile right-back has played 25 games for the Old Lady.
Now though it seems that the 34-year-old is all set to move out of Turin once his contract expires in the summer.
Reports claim that Lichsteiner has agreed on a deal in principle to join Arsenal on a free transfer.
The Swiss International visited Arsenal’s training ground this past week after which it is more or less certain that the defender will move to the Premier League next season.
Unai Emery is looking at Lichtsteiner as a back up to his first choice right-back Hector Bellerin but the 34-year-old’s capabilities of playing in a number of other positions will also be useful for the Spanish manager.
Reports suggest that Arsenal are already in the process of reading a contract and the Gunners want the deal to be wrapped up before the World Cup kicks off in Russia next month.
Stephan Lichtsteiner has featured in 32 games in all competitions for Juventus in the 2017-18 season and has managed to provide 3 assists.
