Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale playing for Wales

Welsh International Gareth Bale was undoubtedly the hero for Real Madrid during the La Liga outfit’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final. But his brace in Kiev seems to have done very little in securing his future at Real Madrid.

After the match, Bale claimed that he is still not sure about his future at the Bernabeu and will make the final call during the summer.

Bale said about his future: “I’m not too sure. Obviously, I need to be playing every week. I feel like I need to be playing every week – I deserve to.

“I just have to soak this in now and enjoy this moment and then I will have plenty of time in the summer to speak to my agent and talk things over.”

This seemingly has spiked the interest of a series of Premier League clubs and the Welshman has been tipped to join a new club for the upcoming season.

Manchester United are said to be the frontrunners in signing Gareth Bale while Chelsea too are keeping an eye on the developments.

Apart from these two Premier League sides, the likes of PSG and Bayern are also interested in bringing the winger on board.

But now according to a series of leaked documents, it seems that Bale’s former club Tottenham Hotspur are in the driving seat when it comes to signing him.

The leaked documents are reportedly leaked pages from the transfer contract between Spurs and Real Madrid when Gareth Bale moved to Spain. And as per these pages, the Lilywhites have a first option to bring back Bale if the Los Blancos decides to put him up for sale.

Here are the key points from the leaked pages:

1. Spurs have a first option to bring back Bale if Real put him up for sale.

2. Tottenham will have this first option luxury until June 30th, 2019.

3. If Real Madrid receive an offer for Gareth Bale for a Premier League club then they will have to inform Spurs about the amount.

4. Once Spurs are informed they will have 72 hours to match any bid from a rival Premier League club.

5. If the London outfit fails to make a bid within the stipulated time frame then “Real Madrid shall be required to accept Tottenham’s offer in preference to any other offers received, including any higher offers received following the third-party offer”.

6. But Spurs can only enjoy these privileges if the bid is coming from a Premier League club. So basically clubs like PSG and Bayern can still move for Bale within triggering the 72-hour clause.
