Three injured Arsenal players could return when they face Spurs: Massive boost for Mikel Arteta?

Right after they return from the international break, Arsenal take on Spurs in the Premier League and as per a report by Goal, three Arsenal players could return for this key tie.

The Gunners are currently first on the league table but Spurs are hunting them down as Conte’s side are just one point behind their arch-rivals. They face off against each other on October 1 so anything other than a win will push Arsenal down the table.

Currently, Arsenal have a long injury list but Oleksandr Zinchenko, Cedric Soares, and Reiss Nelson could all return for the North London Derby.

Zinchenko had suffered a muscle injury in training which is why he could not play for Ukraine during the break. However, he was originally expected to be out for two weeks and if that timeline is still true then he should be in contention to play against Tottenham.

Soares also picked up an injury in training last month and the right-back is also in line to be fit for the NLD. Ben White has done a great job in that role so even if Soares is available then also he will only be good enough to be on the bench.

Reiss Nelson is recovering from a muscle injury and he’s the third player who is likely to be ready for the derby. However, he’s way down the pecking order at Arsenal right now so his fitness is of no major concern for Mikel Arteta.

Very honestly, the injuries to Nelson and Soares are not much of an issue for the Gunners boss but if Zinchenko can return before Saturday’s high-profile game.

Thomas Partey picked up an injury while on international break so if Zinchenko is available for selection then apart from a left-back, Mikel Arteta can also use him a central midfielder alongside Granit Xhaka.

The ex-City man has been really good whenever he’s played for Arsenal this season and Arteta will use him any day before Kieran Tierney at the moment.
